New music eclective’s single shines in support of mental health awareness

ʻIt’ll Shine When It Shinesʼ is the debut single from Irish-Americana music collective SomeRiseSomeFall, and aims to raise support for the charity SHINE, helping people affected by mental ill health in Ireland. Available for download from 02 Nov.

SomeRiseSomeFall is a new music ‘eclective’ of folk, rock and traditional musicians from Ireland and further afield. Their debut album is due for release in Spring 2016. The first single, It’ll Shine When It Shines, is available for download from iTunes, Spotify and other digital sites from 02 November 2015, and all proceeds will go to SHINE. The vocalist on this track is US-born (but adoptive Irishman) Hank Wedel – a familiar and well-loved presence on the live music scene throughout Ireland, Hankʼs rich gravelly voice brings experience and authority to this classic song by Steve Cash & John Dillon of the Ozark Mountain Daredevils.

Itʼll Shine When it Shines was released online Monday, November 2nd, and aims to help raise awareness and support for the charity, SHINE.

SHINE is the national organisation dedicated to upholding the rights and addressing needs of all those affected by enduring mental illness. Shine promotes and provides high-quality services and works to continually enhance the quality of life of the people it serves. John Saunders, CEO of Shine said, ”…we are delighted with this initiative from SomeRiseSomeFall. Both Shine and SomeRiseSomeFall support the Green Ribbon campaign, which encourages people to talk about mental health issues.

Additional Information – SomeRiseSomeFall With musical influences such as The Grateful Dead, Ian Tyson, Jorma Kaukonen, Allen Toussaint and Country Joe McDonald, the eclective SomeRiseSomeFall and their forthcoming album are the brainchild of honorary Corkonian Mick Fitzgerald. Itʼs Americana with an Irish twist, and the album features a host of respected artists including Ger Wolfe, Hank Wedel, Annette Buckley, Edel Sullivan and Harry Moore, with all tracks immaculately produced by Martin Leahy, who also plays accompaniment on most of the tracks. The forthcoming album is an intriguing collection of covers with as well as a specially-commissioned, original instrumental track.
